The Jewish cemetery was established around 1823.
During World War II, the Nazis devastated the necropolis and used matzevot and fence stones to pave local roads.
On August 12, 1942, during the liquidation of the ghetto in Praszka, the Nazis murdered 17 Jews in the cemetery.
About 400 tombstones have survived on the area of 1.5 ha. They are all overturned and stacked.
An illegal path leads through the necropolis and people passing by are walking on graves and overturned matzevot.
Vandalism in the cemetery is a serious threat.
The area is neglected, overgrown with trees and thick brush.
The problem is illegal dumping of rubbish, lush vegetation and the fact that a certain group of residents has made a place of alcoholic drinking.
